What are these dirt Mounds?
I get this question all of the time- What are these dirt mounds showing up in my yard? I’ll tell you right now, its typically gophers. When the gophers are making their tunnels, the rest of the soil gets pushed up and out to form the classic gopher mounds. Thats why you are seeing these dirt mounds. What attracts gophers in your yard? Like most animals, it's food. Gophers are herbivores, so their preferred food sources are lawns and gardens. They love to find gardens and pull those fresh fruits and veggies down into their tunnels. Gophers are known to carry disease. Studies have concluded that gophers have the capability of carrying 5 different diseases – lymphocytic choriomeningitis, leptospirosis, hantavirus, rabies, and the plague. Gopher Mounds Gone!
Here at Primo Pest Solutions we use tunnel finders and set live traps with no poison whatsoever. We let the traps sit for a couple days, then return to collect the traps and the gophers. We level out the mounds and make sure there are no remaining gophers.
